Dobrzyński  family - history

ister of my grandfather, Sister Antonina Alojza Dobrzynska was born on June 08, 1877 in Zabno. On the February 12 1902, she joined the order of Assemble of Sisters Servants Immaculate Conception of the Holy Mary 1902. She took her first Vows she had on December 31 1904 and Eternal Vows on May 30 1915. Until 1930 she worked in Gdynia, than in Pleszew1902 (1930-1932), in Rome (1932-1934), and in Znin until her death on August 24. Sister Alojza was the General Superior of the Assembly from 1911-1916.
For beatification of any person, two miracles must be obtained from God. The process of canonization blessed Andrzej Bobola was based on two miracles: recovery of Ida Kopecka from Krynica and recovery of Sister Alojza Dobrzynska from Rome. On April 25 1937, the Decree of Achieving Miracle was issued in Rome. The canonization of Andrzej Bobola took place in Rome by Pope Pius XI on April 17 1938.

Alojza Dobrzynska

rom 1931, Sister Alojza Dobrzynska was the superior of the order by Polish Pope's Institute in Rome. In October 1933, she started complaining about pain in her stomach. After doctor's examinations, the diagnosis was a pancreas cancer. The illness was incurable. After an advice from the rector of the Institute, priest Tadeusz Zakrzewski, Sister Alojza decided to go back to Poland and die there. At the same time sisters, who accompanied her, started to pray to blessed Andrzej Bobola for the recovery of Sister Alojza. Before her departure to Poland, she went through another doctor's examination. On December 30 1933, doctors discovered no trace of cancer what was against any logic. Sister Alozja arrived to Pleszew Poland on January 09 1934. A couple days later she was examined by Dr. Tuszewski and Dr.J.Bialasiak in Pleszew. Again, there were no signs of illness. The experts, Prof. Filoppo Vercellio and Prof. Enrico Pompeni, from the Royal University of Rome confirmed a miracle recovery that was beyond natural forces.
The picture painted by Galimberti showing Sister Alojza was presented in Rome during canonization of Andrzej Bobola. Now the picture is in Pleszew.
